Unveiled at the MG Motors headquarters in Marylebone, London, the pre-production Cyberster all-electric roadster has been shown to a select few
MG has had a bit of a resurgence in recent times, thanks in part to the new Chinese owners – and it’s fair to say it has been the best thing for the British brand in recent years. We’re starting to see a lot more MG’s crop up about the place, and now the brand want to cement themselves in the sports car segment, with the new Cyberster.
Officially unveiled today at the company’s headquarters in Marylebone in London, those who attended were treated to the first official reveal of the pre-production model. Which is quite useful, because now we get to see what the actual production model will look like.
Sports cars are having a revival, mainly in electric form – Alpine will release an electric sports car after their new hatchback, Tesla with the Roadster and now MG with the Cyberster. We were starting to think that sports cars were dying.
Removing the covers, Carl commented: “It is a special moment for all of us who have played a part in designing this unique car. The Cyberster will offer MG customers a striking, all-electric roadster which will be as exciting as MG sports cars of the past.”
Prospective buyers will have to wait until Summer 2024 to get behind the wheel of their own Cyberster and we’ll wait to hear details about its first public appearance as well.
