It seems that Mini are determined to make big strides this year, with the next generation all-electric Cooper being spotted and the imminent release of the new (again) all-electric Countryman. Most recently, Mini held an event in Shanghai where they previewed a couple of new models including the all-electric Mini Convertible, a special edition of the convertible and their newest inception – the Aceman.
The MINI Concept Aceman is an all-electric crossover concept that previews the brand’s future design language. The concept car is characterised by its agile handling, confident presence, and “Charismatic Simplicity”, says Mini.
The Aceman is powered by a, you guessed it, electric motor that produces around 300bhp and 450 Nm of torque. The concept car can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 6.5 seconds and has a measly top speed of just 93mph.
The concept does feature a number of innovative technologies though, including a circular OLED display that takes up the entire surface of the central instrument (which was seen on the new Mini). The display is combined with redesigned toggle switches to create a harmonious blend of digital and analog controls, something the brand do very well.
MINI is committed to reducing its environmental impact, and the MINI Concept Aceman reflects this commitment with its purely electric drive system. The concept car also features a number of sustainable materials, such as recycled wood and aluminum.
